Greetings from lovely South Texas! Our daily temps are regularly over 100 degrees Fahrenheit, with no cool weather expected until October, and this summer seems to be flying by.
Starting a new conference year at ABC/M each year feels very much like a graduation to me. Some members rotate out of service, many after a long tenure with various committees and/or the Board of Trustees. And of course, other members step into those vacant service positions. It is bittersweet to watch the rotations of service roles over the past 13 years I have been with F.W.S. While I am sad to see people with whom I have worked – often daily, and sometimes for years – rotate out of their service positions, I am happy to get to work with members who may be new to service at the conference level. Often those entering service roles are people who I have only known via email or phone. So the upside is that I get the opportunity to work closely with a new group of service members and “put a face to a name”. I’m grateful for that, as I am also for the many members I have been fortunate to know over the years through their service work.
In celebration of 50 Years of S.L.A.A., two new custom medallions are available on the store. The first is a commemorative bronze 50th Anniversary medallion. The other medallion is a limited-edition gold-plated 50th Anniversary collectible medallion. Only 50 of the gold-plated medallions were created, so get yours before they are gone. What an amazing gift for a sponsor, sponsee, program friend, or even for yourself!

Finally, a big “Thank You” goes out to those I had the good luck to work alongside last conference year. I am looking forward to the coming conference year with great optimism as we celebrate the 50th Anniversary!
