Conference Literature Committee – Last revised: 17 August 2026
Mission Statement: The Conference Literature Committee (CLC) fosters quality literature in support of S.L.A.A. recovery; guides the planning, writing, and editing of literature from writers, writing groups, or service bodies within S.L.A.A.; and approves draft literature prior to submission for full Conference approval.

Results from the 2026 Annual Business meeting:
- The HOW Step and Sponsorship Guide was approved for publication. (Final vote was 54 in favor; 10 opposed; 2 abstentions.) This was the only literature item discussed at the ABM. The HOW Writing group made a number of revisions to the draft; they would like for those to be included in the publication. The CLC will work with the Board Publication and Distribution Committee (BPDC) to review editing that has occurred since the draft that was submitted to the ABM agenda.
- Comparing the Second Edition as the Board proposes to publish with the second edition as approved by the Conference to ensure that Other literature items on the agenda will be addressed at the 2027 ABM.
CLC activity:
- UPDATE on A STATE OF GRACE: The CLC is in the process of comparing the Second Edition as the Board proposes to publish with the Second Edition as approved by the Conference to ensure that none of the editing done since Conference approval (2022) has “materially changed the sense or meaning of the literature.” (Per page 4 of the LCEP workflow.)
- OFFICER ELECTIONS will take place on August 29, at our regular CLC meeting. We anticipate that Kevin C., current Vice Chair, will be elected as CLC Chair for the next 2-year term. Vice Chair replacement is still to be determined as of this writing.
